Unique Village Festival Tours (March, April & May)
Each year, Bhutanese villages come alive with the reenactment of sacred mask dances that were envisioned and choreographed by Buddhist masters centuries ago. Meant to spread the Buddha-Dharma and also bestow religious virtue for the onlookers, these dances attract people of all walks of life thus providing, for the first time visitors to the country, a rare and unique insight into ancient customs, the Buddhist culture, and the present-day lifestyle. We recommend village festivals for those who are looking for quaint and authentic local celebrations, attended by many local people but few tourists.
